Principles to Teach My Children

 PRINCIPLES TO TEACH MY CHILD

  1. TEACH HIM/HER TO KNOW CHRIST.

"But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God..." (John 1:12)

  2. TEACH HIM TO GLORIFY GOD.

"Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own? For you have been bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body." (I Corinthians 6:18-20)

  3. TEACH HIM THAT HE IS GOD'S UNIQUE CREATION.

"For Thou didst form my inward parts; Thou didst weave me in my mother's womb. I will give thanks to Thee, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Wonderful are Thy works, And my soul knows it very well." (Psalm 139:13-14)

  4. TEACH HIM THAT GOD LOVES AND REPROVES HIM.

"For whom the Lord loves He reproves, Even as a father, the son in whom he delights." (Proverbs 3:12)

  5. TEACH HIM THAT PARENTS ARE TO CORRECT HIM.

"He who spares the rod hates his son, But he who loves him disciplines him diligently." (Proverbs 13:24)

  6. TEACH HIM FORGIVENESS.

"If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." (I John 1:9)

  7. TEACH HIM TO BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR HIS ACTIONS.

"So then each one of us shall give account of himself to God." (Romans 14:12)

  8. TEACH HIM OBEDIENCE TO AUTHORITY.

"Let every person be in subjection to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those which exist are established by God." (Romans 13:1)

  9. TEACH HIM TO BE APPRECIATIVE ALWAYS.

"In everything give thanks; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." (I Thessalonians 5:18)

 10. TEACH HIM TO SPEAK KINDLY ALWAYS.

"Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned as it were with salt, so that you may know how you should respond to each person." (Colossians 4:6)

 11. TEACH HIM TO LEARN GOD'S WORD.

"Thy word I have treasured in my heart, That I may not sin against Thee." (Psalm 119:11)

 12. TEACH HIM TO PRAY.

"Let us therefore draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and may find grace to help in time of need." (Hebrews 4:16)

 13. TEACH HIM TO SEEK GOD'S WILL.

"But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added to you." (Matthew 6:33)

 14. TEACH HIM TO SET HIS MIND ON SPIRITUAL TRUTHS.

"Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth." (Colossians 3:2)
