Dear Mr. President

Re: Mass Murders

You are to be commended for your White House meeting of the families and friends of those who have been recently murdered in mass killings.

The solutions that are frequently put forward, including laws restricting the use of automatic weapons, background checks of gun purchasers, and improved mental health reporting, remain unchanged. Unfortunately, the proposed solutions, if implemented, would have only minimal impact.

Mass murders almost invariably involve a gunman, a gun, and ammunition. Ravi Zacharias, Christian apologist, remarked that the real ammunition is ultimately not the bullets but the depravity of mankind. The solution to the problem is largely spiritual. Over the years, much of God has been progressively removed from our homes and our society and the results are now clearly evident. The nation and its people desperately need to return to their spiritual roots and to do that requires political, educational, business, and spiritual leaders who understand the importance and urgency of such changes.

This notion may be mocked but ultimately God will not be mocked. It will be at our own peril.

Thank you for your consideration.

Yours truly

Randall F. More, P. Eng.
