U.S. President Obama - Same-Sex Marriage - May 12, 2012 - letter by Randall F. More

Dear Mr. President

Re: Same-Sex Marriage

Your position regarding same-sex marriage has "evolved" to the point where you are now an advocate.

Same-sex marriage should be neither a constitutional nor an equal rights issue. A man has the right to marry a woman and a woman has the right to marry a man. There is no discrimination. Same-sex marriage is, in fact, an oxymoron.

As a Christian, you would know that the institution of marriage was intended to be the same today as when it was ordained by God 6,000 years ago. When one is an advocate for that which is against God's will, contrary to the perception of many, it does not represent true compassion for the gay person.

Regardless of our sexual temptations, whether heterosexual or homosexual, as Christians we are called to submit to the way of Christ. As believers, we should honour His Word:

"For this reason a man shall leave his father and his mother, and be joined to his wife; and they shall become one flesh" (Genesis 2:24).

It is understandable that there will be consequences for violating His expressed instructions for our lives as, ultimately, God will not be mocked.

As the President of the United States and as a professing Christian, this is a tremendous opportunity for you to stand boldly for God's unblemished truth. I kindly ask you to reconsider your position to be consistent with God's Word. I know that you will be graciously honoured for providing such leadership.

Thank you for your consideration.

Yours truly

U.S. President Obama - Abortion - May 8, 2012 - by Randall F. More

Dear Mr. President

RE: Abortion

Your personal belief in the “right” of women to choose abortion, wherein the lives of unborn children are considered to be expendable, is difficult to understand, most especially in view of your professed faith as a Bible-believing Christian.

Abortion is not a social, political, or economic issue; it is a moral issue. The “freedom to choose” is a misplaced freedom when the unborn child is given no choice at all.

You have stated that you will do everything in your power to ensure that your own daughters will never be subjected to terrorism. The irony is, in fact, that abortion is the ultimate in personal terrorism whereby unborn children are terrorized by their own imminent death within their mothers’ wombs. The U.S. Declaration of Independence provides assurance for ALL LIFE as an unalienable Right under the hand of our Creator. This Right is not one which can be legitimately forfeited.

It is unlikely that you will ever be judged in eternity with respect to your dealings on healthcare, the auto sector, oil pricing, financial institutions, immigration, green energy, or other issues, but in your capacity as President, it is important that you provide the necessary leadership with respect to honouring the lives of the unborn. No nation on Earth which sanctions the killing of its unborn children will survive intact. God will not be mocked. Ultimately, it will be at our own peril. There should be no misunderstanding for those of us who believe God’s Word.

Please reconsider your position with respect to abortion, specifically in light of God's Word, and then provide the necessary leadership, as President, to your nation and to the world in honouring the sanctity of all human life. Every unborn child should be afforded the protection that God intended.

Thank you for your consideration.

Yours truly

Randall F. More, P. Eng.
