Dear Dr. Krauthammer
I appreciate and enjoy your commentaries on FOX.
I have just completed reading and very much enjoyed your book, "Things That Matter." I agree with most of your selected writings but disagree with your perspective outlined in, "The Real Message of Creationsim."
You write that creationism "is not science because it violates the central canon that a theory must, at least in principle, be disprovable. Creationism is not."
Your assertion is correct but evolution is similarly neither disprovable, nor provable. Evolution therefore cannot be considered as science for the same reason as Creation. Neither can ever be proved nor disproved. Therefore, Creation and evolution, by scientific standards, can never rightfully be considered as anything more than hypotheses, certainly not as scientific facts or laws, basically because neither is observable nor repeatable. It will always be known as the "theory" (or more correctly the "hypothesis") of evolution and nothing more.
For those who believe the Bible to be the Word of God, Creation has the distinct advantage of being a fact, if not by science, by faith, while at the same time the available scientific evidence lends tremendous support for Creation. Not surprisingly, the God of the Bible is also the God of all science.
From an academic standpoint, both evolution and Creation should be taught in schools but they should BOTH be taught together either as religion, philosophy, ethics, or science. That would then constitute true, unbiased, and scholarly excellence.
Contrary to your assertion, I believe that the Bible is all about facts. There isn't a single reference in the Bible about any subject that has ever been proven to be erroneous. If nothing else, that is truly an astounding record.
Thank you for your consideration.
Your comments would be most welcome.
Yours truly
Randall F. More, P. Eng.
