Attention: Mr. Steve Forbes, Chairman & CEO Forbes Media

If our understanding is correct, Forbes has chosen to black list former Trump employees by doing its best to ensure that such workers are not offered career opportunities in the marketplace. (Your response to Steve Doucey on FOX was very dismissive.)

This is all rather shocking, most especially because it originates in your organization which was built in a country with laws that supported and honoured free speech, free markets, and free enterprise.

Squelching free speech is horrible, in and of itself, but striving to ensure that highly competent, educated, and patriot Americans will be unable pursue their careers because of your policy is shabby beyond measure. To dismiss their genuine patriotism because of their political views is very disturbing.

I trust that your organization will reconsider such a policy and revert to more normal and highly principled American values.

Yours truly

 6.     Never go to sleep with an argument unsettled.

Waterloo Region Record - White Privilege - Dec 8, 2020 - letter to Editor by Randall F. More

Waterloo Region Record - White Privilege

Emailed to Record

Dec 8, 2020

Letter to Editor:

Let us put an end to the foolish notion of “white privilege” (and “white privilege training” for U.S. teachers). This is not only wrong but it is racist... ultimately working to destroy us.

Most, but not all people on this continent, have either American privilege or Canadian privilege... not “white privilege.” Regardless of our skin colour, each one of us is amongst the most privileged people on earth.

There is a high percentage of black athletes in football, baseball, and basketball, both in proportion to population and in absolute terms. This is because blacks in America have generally demonstrated excellent athletic abilities, most likely due to genetics. Just as with “white privilege,” it would be ridiculous to consider this as “black privilege” or “athletic privilege.”

Asians do very well in academics. Should we vilify them because of their “Asian privilege” or their “academic privilege?”

There are some of us, red and yellow, black or white (as we sing in Sunday school) or brown and olive (as the most common skin colours in the world)... who are more able bodied or more mentally capable than others. It would be ludicrous to consider us as “able-bodied privilege” or “capable-minded privilege.”

Affirmative action, for the most part, has served its purpose but when a black student is admitted to college because of the legal provision, it would be foolish to consider this as “black privilege.”

The list is endless. If we acknowledged the truth, we would recognize that in our western countries most of us are privileged beyond measure, not because of our skin colour but because of the efforts of all those who went before us, of every varied skin colour... in order to build our nations where we can each have similar privileges.

We should each be seeking to edify each other, not tear down. Let us stop this nonsense and move forward instead of groveling in the pettiness of continued racism.

Proverbs 31 - An Excellent Wife - King Solomon - 1000 B.C.

PROVERBS 31:10-31

New American Standard Bible

The EXCELLENT WIFE

An excellent wife, who can find? For her worth is far above jewels.

The heart of her husband trusts in her, And he will have no lack of gain.

She does him good and not evil All the days of her life.

She looks for wool and flax And works with her hands in delight.

She is like merchant ships; She brings her food from afar.

She rises also while it is still night And gives food to her household And portions to her maidens.

She considers a field and buys it; From her earnings she plants a vineyard.

She girds herself with strength And makes her arms strong.

She senses that her gain is good; Her lamp does not go out at night.

She stretches out her hands to the distaff, And her hands grasp the spindle.

She extends her hand to the poor, And she stretches out her hands to the needy.

She is not afraid of the snow for her household, For all her household are clothed with scarlet.

She makes coverings for herself; Her clothing is fine linen and purple.

Her husband is known in the gates, When he sits among the elders of the land.

She makes linen garments and sells them, And supplies belts to the tradesmen.

Strength and dignity are her clothing, And she smiles at the future.

She opens her mouth in wisdom, And the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.

She looks well to the ways of her household, And does not eat the bread of idleness.

Her children rise up and bless her; Her husband also, and he praises her, saying:

“Many daughters have done nobly, But you excel them all.”

Charm is deceitful and beauty is vain, But a woman who fears the LORD, she shall be praised.

Give her the product of her hands, And let her works praise her in the gates.

Ontario Government – Covid Controls

Dear Premier Ford, Premier of Ontario

Upon dining in a local restaurant last week, I find that the owner of the restaurant is only permitted to have 10 patrons in the premises at any one time. The owner had closed off 75% of the eating area and half the restrooms. Such a limiting and extreme by-law does little to accomplish any reasonable objective. The same social distancing could be accomplished by opening the entire space while permitting more patrons.

Another restaurant owner permitted the 10 allowable patrons to use the entire 1875 sq ft dining area which has a normal capacity of 220 persons. (Therefore, the normal spatial requirement for this restaurant is 8.5 sq ft per person whereas during Covid it is 188 sq ft per person or 2200% compared to normal. The limit of 10 patrons represents a minimal usage of only 4.5% of normal capacity.)

I do not intend any impertinence but I do not believe this to be reasonable by almost any standard. Would it not be more reasonable during Covid to provide a patron limit predicated on the dining area... say 40 to 50% of the normal capacity... and using the entire dining area?

The present Covid policy is a serious detriment to the owner, the staff, the patrons, and ultimately even the government... without really solving the root problem.

Further, since the by-law is so very restrictive, it necessarily means that many more people are now having to eat all or most of their meals in their own homes resulting in more and longer efforts for grocery shopping which then clogs grocery stores with shoppers which further threatens Covid control.

What is also difficult to understand is that major retailers such as Walmart, Costco, Home Depot, and others are permitted virtually, or practically, unlimited patronage while small stores serving the same needs are either closed or near closure.

I recognize that all issues are complicated but I do not believe that the present controls represent a constructive, fair, or balanced approach to Covid. I and others trust that you will review and revise.

Your comments are most welcome.

Thank you.

The Lincoln Project - re: Trump - Oct 22, 2020 - letter by Randall F. More

The Lincoln Project website indicates that all Americans should have a shared fidelity to the Constitution, to which most people would agree. Your organization is anti-Trump and yet your site doesn’t seem to mention any instance wherein Trump has run contrary to the Constitution.

When you so unnecessarily denigrate Trump, you essentially mock half the people in the nation, those who voted for him.

Regardless of any or all of Trump’s flaws or failings, or any or all of his policies, or any of the same for Biden, in evaluating these two candidates each and every usual criterion is really quite trivial when compared to the advocacy of allowing the killing of unborn babies as is the case with V.P. Biden. If one genuinely cares about the nation in the long term, all other values ultimately have very little relevance. How is it that unborn lives have no place of any importance in your plan?

Virtually each one of the Democratic politicians argue vehemently, most often with much anger and vitriol, for the reproductive rights of women. What the Democrats and your organization choose to ignore is that reproductive rights more correctly end at the moment of conception. No nation on earth will survive intact the sanctioning of killing its unborn children. This truth alone should be sufficient to effect one’s decision for this election and any other.

In 2012, the Democratic Party removed any reference to “God” in its policy platform… but God will not be mocked. Ultimately, attempts to mock God will be at the peril of the nation. Why are you choosing to seek to promote a godless nation?

As former Republicans you can support V.P. Biden even though there are many evidences (which you seem to ignore) which reflect his lack of forthrightness, lack of honesty, his changing and contradictory policies, his lack of integrity, his lack of a proper response to sexual assault accusations, and lack of any legitimate response to the information pertaining to family financial payments which presently seem difficult to reconcile with the law and honourable conduct.

Your organization is able to find countless Trump flaws and yet, for some reason, you are so readily able to overlook Biden’s equally significant character and policy flaws. Trump’s character may be in need of improvement but he doesn’t claim to be a Christian whereas Biden purports to be a Catholic and yet his character is inconsistent with the most basic tenets of Catholicism.

In 47 years in politics, including 8 years as V.P. what has Biden accomplished? Not much other than his 1994 Biden Crime Law which he concedes was a disaster… resulting in the incarceration of more blacks. Biden has no executive experience that is so necessary to lead a nation.

Robert Gates, U.S. Secretary of Defense, and fellow Democrat, stated and wrote that Biden has “been wrong on nearly every major foreign policy and national security issue over the past four decades.” This is a blatant indicator of Biden’s inability to provide critical national leadership.

During the Democrat Primaries, Biden confirmed his support for comprehensive health coverage to undocumented immigrants. How is that not an absurd position? (If one examines Biden’s own charitable contributions through the years, there is no record of any of his own personal financial contribution to reflect such a position.)

The Democrats have demonstrated that they do very little to support or honour true democracy. Instead, they have chosen, since Trump’s inauguration, to work tirelessly to remove a duly elected President from office. This, in itself, is shameful and effectively mocks those who did vote for Trump.

Biden stated that Antifa is just an ideology. This is ludicrous. Antifa is a left-wing political action movement which advocates violent action to accomplish its objectives.

The Democrats have demonstrated 33 years of vindictiveness and disdain for each and every Republican Supreme Court justice nominee… including recently. This is not right and serves no constructive purpose for the nation.

How is it that as Republicans you are able to suddenly desert free market, conservative fundamentals… most especially with the most conservative President in recent history?

How do you consider Trump as a poor candidate and yet then choose to support an even poorer one? The only thing we know for sure is that President Trump is just like you and me, far from perfect. If your forum happens to be successful, the U.S. will end up with a President who they deserve instead of the President that the nation desperately needs.

Instead of denigrating Trump and his supporters, why don’t you stand with half the voters, all other Republicans, and support who they have chosen to support instead of effectively denigrating them? If you are genuine Republicans why haven’t you chosen to work vigorously to have one of your own kind elected instead of doing what you are now doing?

I welcome your acknowledgement, response, or correction of any errors or misunderstandings.

Thank you.

Yours truly
